Designing My-SASS-Plate
MyPlate is a "food guide", released by the united States Department of Agriculture, to help Americans prepare a healthy plate of food. Its aim is to encourage people to become more responsible for their health. in our country, the Ministerio de Salud Argentino designed a "Plato Saludable" based on the MyPlate idea. These icons are a visual tool that everyone, even young children, can understand.
Bearing this in mind, the students in Y5 decided to build a SassPlate and campaign to the lower forms about the importance of healthy eating and how to achieve it. The Y5 kids were invited to challenge their own designs following some self-evaluating questions. These questions would, in turn, help them to analyse their work and decide how effective a tool for healthy eating it would be to others.
